Equipment & Air Quality

Your diving equipment and breathing air quality are essential for a safe dive.

• All equipment is serviced annually by authorized technicians

• Equipment is regularly renewed to meet modern safety standards

• Multiple internationally recognized equipment brands ensure proper fit and comfort

• Cylinders are filled on-site at our dive center • Compressors are professionally maintained with filters replaced earlier than recommended service intervals

• Steel cylinders are used to compensate for the increased salinity of the local sea

This allows you to dive knowing your equipment and air supply meet strict safety requirements.

 Medical & Emergency Preparedness

Safety is taken seriously by every member of our team.

• All dive staff are trained in Rescue Procedures, CPR, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen administration

• Emergency oxygen is available at the dive center

• Our dive boat carries life jackets, first aid kits and fire extinguishers

• On-site first aid facilities are available for minor and major incidents

• A hotel doctor is located within walking distance

The second largest hyperbaric chamber in Greece operates in Thessaloniki at Agios Pavlos General Hospital, approximately 130 km from our dive center. 

 Insurance & DAN Protection

Athos Scuba Diving Center is an affiliated dive operator with DAN Europe (Divers Alert Network) — Membership No. 372489.

When participating in a course or dive activity with us, divers are covered through DAN Europe, an international non-profit medical and research organization dedicated to diving safety.

DAN provides 24/7 worldwide medical assistance in the event of a diving emergency.

Diving & Flying Guidelines

For your safety, please allow adequate surface intervals before flying after diving:

• Single dive — minimum 12 hours before flying

• Multiple dives or multi-day diving — minimum 18 hours before flying
