OUR STORY
Androniki & Katerina Iliadou
How did we start our business..
-SCUBA SISTERS-
It all started with a dream.
It was an afternoon back in 1984. We were sitting close to the beach when my sister Katerina asked me what I wanted to become when I grew up.
“An archaeologist,” I answered, “so I can find the lost island of Atlantis.”
And then I said:
“Katerina, why don’t you become a diver so we can find it together?”
“Niki, being a diver is not a job — it’s a hobby…” she replied.
Life had other plans.
Athos Scuba was never just a business.
By 2026, we had already been involved in diving for 28 years — 25 of them as professionals. What started as a childhood joke became our reality.
Athos Scuba is our Atlantis.
A diving center open to everyone who wants to explore the underwater world, learn scuba, or simply experience the magic beneath the surface.
Diving is not just our job. It’s our way of life.
Every day we meet people from all over the world. Different ages, different stories — the same excitement when they take their first breath underwater.
That energy, that joy, that connection… That’s what makes divers return year after year.
And that is our reward.
Our home by the sea
Since 2004, Athos Scuba has been permanently based on the beachfront of Eagles Palace in Halkidiki.
A unique setting, crystal clear waters and direct access to the sea create the perfect environment for safe and comfortable diving.
Being part of this exceptional location allows us to offer a seamless experience — from briefing to boat departure — just a few steps from the water.
Yiannis Iliopoulos
Our underwater photographer and dedicated PADI Divemaster. Since 2014, Yiannis has been capturing the moments our divers never forget — the first descent, the first smile underwater, the light breaking through the blue.
Calm, focused and passionate, he is an essential part of our team.
Lydia Iliopoulou
Our beloved Dive Master Lydia Iliopoulou has been diving with us since 9years old & every summer she spends her school holidays with us! With her possitive energy, passion and enthusiasm she has become an irreplacable part of our team!
Deco the dog
Official mascot. Unpaid supervisor. Full-time beach patrol. Deco is always around — welcoming guests, inspecting equipment and making sure everyone smiles before boarding the boat.
An important (and very loved) member of our crew.
Our instructors live and dive in Halkidiki year-round, guiding divers of all levels in the waters around Ammouliani Island and Mount Athos.
Dive With Friends
Our education center is officially acknowledged by the Greek state (registration no. YEN 2118.3/02/09) and meets European scuba diving qualification standards.
We provide responsible, safe and high-quality education at all recreational PADI levels (PADI no. 35608).

Diving lessons are held in small groups and the training program is flexibly arranged after discussion with the students.
